J-Dawg's Bio

J-Dawg (as all his friends know him) was born at St Agnes Hospital waaaay back when Boog Powell was rolling, I mean, roving around 1st base for the O’s the same year he last appeared in an All-Star game.

Growing up, I remember sitting downstairs in our house in the eastern panhandle of WV watching the O’s on WBAL-2 and keeping score in my scorebook. I remember Sundays with my dad watching the likes of Ted Marchibroda, Bert Jones, Joe Washington, and Roger Carr run up and down the field. I remember my last 3-games at Memorial Stadium (Tippy Martinez sat right behind me the final game) and the first two at Camden. I cried when they lifted home plate out of Memorial. I was livid when they pulled the “Mayflower Midnight Madness Move” to Indy…so am I a Colts fan? Yes, but they come 2nd now to my New Orleans Saints…you are probably wondering why the Saints? Well, friends of the family the year the Colts moved to Indy, they went to Louisiana and brought back a whole bunch of Saints stuff – so I have suffered my 3-13 seasons as well as a nice 13-3. I have been a die-hard O’s fan since I made my entry in the world and nothing will ever change that.

I have had the opportunity to meet Cal Sr (before he died) Cal Jr, and Billy all at the same time. I have taken in games at both Memorial and Camden, and each have their nuances.

In my normal life (which right now isn’t so normal due to the economy) I am a professional load transportation and relocation engineer for a major trucking company and before that I was a transportation planner for 8 years for the same said company (for which I have been with 14 years now). I also have an IT degree in PC Help Desk Support and Telecommunications, for which I have yet to find a job in that field. I spend my off-time with my daughter (7) and son (3).

I look forward to being a contributor to this fine establishment!!

J-Dawg
